Research Projects
Currently the IPEP is developing research projects in different parts of the country.
Central Coast
Including beds of the Paleogene and mostly Neogene in Ica and
north of Arequipa.
Its main target is the study of evolution in the variety of
vertebrates found in the area, specially cetacean, pinnipeds, birds
and selacean.
Conchucos
Developed in high zones (above the 4500 mts) in the Conchucos area (Ancash) we found a significant amount of early Cretacic fauna that includes reamains of dinosaurs, sea reptiles and fishes..
High Maranon
Centered in the layers of the late creataceous in Bagua (Amazon)
and the sorrounding areas we have recovered a large amount of
vertebrate fauna, mainly dinosaurs.
